The “Pomeroy West Indian” tarpon reel was made by Hardy Bros Alnwick from 1909 to 1913. This 5 1/8″ first model was made circa 1910. These reels were made out of gun-metal, with the star back and reel seat made from German silver. The star back was stamped the “Silex”

The Alma Reel was made by Hardy Bros Alnwick from 1925 to 1937. Approx 100 in total were made in sizes, 3 1/2″,4 1/4″,4 3/4″, 5 1/4″, 5 3/4″,and 7″. This example is one of only 3 made in this size and it was made in 1926.

The improved Farne. Made by Hardy Bros Alnwick from 1914 to 1935. This 5″ improved Farne was made in 1914 and is one of only 2 first models know to collectors. It is identical to the description shown in the 1914 catalogue. The first few reels of this model were made without the rim control check and a compression brake the back plate was stamped the “Silex” no2.
