Is credited with devising the now widely accepted tag and release concept for big game fishes, commencing his first experiments in 1938

Reg Lyne

This is the first of only 2 marlin caught by the original members of the Swordfish & Tunny club of Aust, on Montague Island, Feb 1934 (Both were caught by Reg Lyne). This club was founded on the island on Feb 13th at Reg Lyne's camp. Reg Lyne was manager of Hartley's Malbourne Tackle shop in the 1930's. He was instrumental in getting Zane Grey to visit in 1936.
